House URX.01, familiarly known as Casa Bromelia, is yhe pioneer project of Urban Recycle Studio in the residential architecture sector. Designed and built between January/2010 and December/2011, Casa Bromelia tried to answer to user s needs, respecting spaces and organization of the surrounding environment. The main project idea consisted in placing a residential unit into a space without buildings in the surroundings, in a way able to best adapt to a future built context, providing the user with visual, thermal and acoustic comfort, by profiting of the climatic conditions of the region. In order to do that, UR proposed a building divided into two floors, connected with a stair in balance inside a big 4×4 meters window. In order to reduce the overall construction costs, it has been chosen to use light and industrial materials, assembled with simple techniques characterized by easy and quick execution, both for the interior and for the exterior of the building.
